iU calculator for HGH and HCG
10 IU in 1 mL = 10 IU/mL, so 2 IU is 0.2 mL = 20 units on a U-100 syringe.
IU measures biological activity, not mass. Somatropin has a fixed standard (3 IU = 1 mg); hCG does not, so its vial and draw are both entered in IU.
price, vial size and certificate correction
Most 2–15 mg vials hold 3 mL.
Somatropin is 3 IU per mg. Leave empty to work in IU only.

the working
- 10 IU ÷ 1 mL = 10 IU/mL
- 2 IU ÷ 10 IU/mL = 0.2 mL
- 0.2 mL × 100 = 20 units on a 0.3 mL U-100 syringe
- 10 IU ÷ 2 IU = 5 → 5 full draws
If this is a prescription, the dose and volume on your pharmacy label take priority. Ask your pharmacist about any mismatch.

IU chart
| vial | 1 mL | 2 mL | 5 mL |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 IU HGH (3.33 mg) | 10 IU/mL 10 units = 1 IU | 5 IU/mL 10 units = 0.5 IU | 2 IU/mL 10 units = 0.2 IU |
| 12 IU HGH (4 mg) | 12 IU/mL 10 units = 1.2 IU | 6 IU/mL 10 units = 0.6 IU | 2.4 IU/mL 10 units = 0.24 IU |
| 15 IU HGH (5 mg) | 15 IU/mL 10 units = 1.5 IU | 7.5 IU/mL 10 units = 0.75 IU | 3 IU/mL 10 units = 0.3 IU |
| 36 IU HGH (12 mg) | 36 IU/mL 10 units = 3.6 IU | 18 IU/mL 10 units = 1.8 IU | 7.2 IU/mL 10 units = 0.72 IU |
| 5,000 IU hCG | 5000 IU/mL 10 units = 500 IU | 2500 IU/mL 10 units = 250 IU | 1000 IU/mL 10 units = 100 IU |
| 10,000 IU hCG | 10000 IU/mL 10 units = 1000 IU | 5000 IU/mL 10 units = 500 IU | 2000 IU/mL 10 units = 200 IU |
Somatropin: WHO 2nd International Standard 98/574, 3.0 IU per mg. hCG potency is set by bioassay, so it has no fixed mg equivalent.
the arithmetic
formulas
- concentration = amount in the vial ÷ water added (mg/mL)
- mL per draw = amount per draw ÷ concentration
- syringe units = mL × 100 (U-100) or × 40 (U-40)
- water to add = vial amount × units ÷ (amount per draw × 100)
- cost per draw = vial price × amount per draw ÷ vial amount
Worked: 10 mg ÷ 2 mL = 5 mg/mL; 0.25 mg ÷ 5 = 0.05 mL; × 100 = 5 units.

terms and sources
- Label amount or measured amount. The calculator starts from the amount printed on the vial. A lot certificate’s measured content (net peptide content, in mg) can replace it for the vial that was tested. HPLC purity is a share of peak area, not a mass, so a purity-only correction is shown as an estimate. See HPLC, certificate of analysis and how to read a peptide COA.
- Concentration. Amount in the vial ÷ water added. Terms: reconstitution, bacteriostatic water, lyophilized.
- Syringe units. A volume: 0.01 mL per unit on a U-100 syringe, 0.025 mL on U-40. Units say nothing about the compound until the concentration is known.
- Cost per draw. Vial price × amount per draw ÷ vial amount, from the price per mg of a current offer. Price history: peptide price tracker.
