Retatrutide Storage: Powder, Solutions & Evidence Limits
What each retatrutide supplier actually states about storing the powder and a solution, what stability evidence exists, and why no shelf life can be taken from other peptides.
In this article
Powder and solution are different storage questions
Retatrutide research listings are sold as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder in sealed vials. Once a powder is dissolved, it becomes a different system: the solvent, concentration, container, preservative and any repeated opening all affect how it degrades. A condition stated for the sealed powder does not carry over to a solution, and neither statement says how long the material stays within specification. [1][4]
What each supplier states
| Source | Form | Condition stated | Duration stated | What the statement is |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| American Peptides (AP-RTA-3 listing) | Lyophilized powder; reconstituted solution | Powder: store at −20 °C, protected from light and moisture. Solution: refrigerate at 2–8 °C after reconstitution with bacteriostatic water. | None | Supplier instruction on the product page |
| LA Peptides (LAP-3 (R) listing) | Lyophilized powder in sealed vials | No storage condition on the listing | None | Supplier product page |
| LA Peptides general guide | Lyophilized peptides in general | Long term frozen, typically −20 °C; 2–8 °C for short periods; keep sealed, protect from light, avoid repeated freeze–thaw | None | General supplier guidance, not specific to retatrutide |
| Nova Peptide Supply (GLP-3 RT listing) | Lyophilized vials that require reconstitution | No storage condition in the product description | None | Supplier product page |
| Amino Club (GLP-3 listing) | Not stated in the retrieved page | No storage statement found | None | Supplier product page |
| Blank Peptides (retatrutide listing) | Not reviewed | Product content requires sign-in; not reviewed | Not reviewed | Unavailable to this review |
| Lilly clinical-trial formulation | Not public | Not published | Not published | Investigational medicine; storage data not public |
The only retatrutide-specific statement found sets a temperature for each form but no time limit. The more detailed LA Peptides guidance is written for lyophilized peptides in general and does not claim to be based on retatrutide data. [1][3]
What stability evidence exists
A PubMed search on 5 November 2026 for retatrutide with stability, storage or purity terms in the title or abstract returned three records: a review, an anti-doping method paper and a case report. None is a stability study of retatrutide powder or solution. [7]
The anti-doping paper validated the stability of retatrutide in plasma and urine samples for laboratory detection. That concerns biological samples held for analysis, not a vial of powder or a prepared solution. [8]
A 2026 review of retatrutide’s pharmaceutical development lists formulation stability among the open development questions. Lilly has not published storage or shelf-life data for its investigational formulation. [9][10]
What is not known
- How long retatrutide powder remains within its stated purity and content at any temperature.
- How long a retatrutide solution remains within specification, in any solvent, concentration or container.
- Whether freezing, thawing, light or repeated opening changes a particular product, and by how much.
- Whether a supplier’s stated condition reflects its own stability testing; none of the pages cites a study.
A shelf life or “use within” period copied from another peptide or an approved medicine does not apply here. Approved products set those periods from stability studies of their own formulation and container, which is why they differ even for the same molecule.

Use the product documentation you actually have
For a specific research listing, the relevant evidence is that seller’s specification, its lot report and any storage statement printed for that product. A certificate of analysis describes a sample at the time it was tested; it does not show how the material changes afterwards. FDA warns that products sold as “for research purposes” have been marketed for human use and are of unknown quality. [11]

Questions
How should lyophilized retatrutide powder be stored?
Only supplier statements are available. American Peptides states −20 °C, protected from light and moisture, for its retatrutide powder; LA Peptides’ general peptide guide gives −20 °C for long-term storage. These are seller instructions without a stated duration, not a validated stability result, and no published retatrutide stability study was found on 5 November 2026.
Does a powder storage statement apply after reconstitution?
No. A solution needs its own evidence because the solvent, concentration, container and handling change how it degrades. The one supplier that mentions a solution gives 2–8 °C with no time limit, and no study establishes how long a retatrutide solution stays within specification.
