doses of AICAR used in research
Not approved; as acadesine it was given IV in human trials, including the phase 3 RED-CABG trial (0.1 mg/kg/min for 7 hours, stopped for futility) and a phase I/II CLL study (single 4-hour infusions of 50-315 mg/kg). These are the amounts specific labels and studies used, linked to each source. They are references, not recommendations; a prescription label takes priority.

| Phase 3 RED-CABG (JAMA 2012): 0.1 mg/kg/min IV for 7 hours around CABG surgery phase 3 trial · 2012 · PMID 22782417 | 3,080 intermediate- to high-risk adults having nonemergency on-pump CABG surgery | 42 mg/kg single continuous IV infusion at 0.1 mg/kg per minute for about 7 hours single perioperative infusion The amount is the total infusion (42 mg/kg in 500 mL saline, per registry NCT00872001); the abstract states the rate, 0.1 mg/kg per minute for 7 hours. Acadesine was also added to cardioplegia and bypass priming solutions (5 mcg/mL). The trial stopped early for futility: the primary outcome rate was 5.1% vs 5.0% with placebo. | intravenous |
| Phase I/II (Cancer Chemother Pharmacol 2013): single 4-hour IV infusions in relapsed CLL phase 1 trial · 2013 · PMID 23228986 | 24 patients with relapsed or refractory chronic lymphocytic leukemia | 210 mg/kg single 4-hour infusion (part II: 2 or 5 doses at 210 mg/kg) single or repeated infusions Part I (18 patients) escalated single doses from 50 to 315 mg/kg; 210 mg/kg was the maximum tolerated dose. Hyperuricemia, renal impairment and infusion-related hypotension were reported. | intravenous |

10 units on a U-100 syringe is 0.1 mL. Every cell is exact arithmetic: amount ÷ water.

terms and sources
- Label amount or measured amount. The calculator starts from the amount printed on the vial. A lot certificate’s measured content (net peptide content, in mg) can replace it for the vial that was tested. HPLC purity is a share of peak area, not a mass, so a purity-only correction is shown as an estimate. See HPLC, certificate of analysis and how to read a peptide COA.
- Concentration. Amount in the vial ÷ water added. Terms: reconstitution, bacteriostatic water, lyophilized.
- Syringe units. A volume: 0.01 mL per unit on a U-100 syringe, 0.025 mL on U-40. Units say nothing about the compound until the concentration is known.
- Cost per draw. Vial price × amount per draw ÷ vial amount, from the price per mg of a current offer. Offers come from the AICAR price comparison; certificates from the COA library.
Arithmetic only, on the numbers entered. Amounts from labels or trials are cited references, not recommendations; PeptideTech does not give personal use instructions and does not test products.
